Their Apologies Are Hollow and Rooted in Fear…Fear for Themselves

“What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out…had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang on the door…, had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers…and…the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterwards.”
That’s a quote from The Gulag Archipelago, the novel by Russian dissident and physicist, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, about his experience in the Soviet prison system. You’ve heard it on this podcast a couple of times previously; it has never been more applicable than in our present situation.

The overwhelming number of gun owners in America lean right. The vast majority of our rank and file in the military are conservatives. The beat officers in the nation’s police departments, betrayed and targeted, are, shall we say, not kindly disposed to progressives. Our special forces tilt right, and, without question, even the Secret Service is majority Republican voting.

What non-idiot Dems know and fear and all of their tools would do well to understand, is that in addition to, and infinitely more dangerous than, the possible right-leaning nut case, is the planned, methodic, and professional action employed by individuals who are not crazy, but who want to leave a mark and have the ability to do it and get away with it. And really, how difficult a target is a media member or academic or actor? Their home addresses are easily found. They have no detail. What if doxing begins?
This is the giant that has been stirred. This is the skilled and precise operator who bears them great danger. From the stealthy hunter to the police detective or SWAT team member to former and present military, this is a force with the capacity to exact punishment and escape, leaving them able to punish again. Perhaps this is the answer. Perhaps genuine fear is the only antidote to violence from progressives. I wonder how many of them have read Solzhenitsyn?
