The Book of Matthew - Part 02

The lesson taught on July 14, 2024 was part 2 of “The Book of Matthew” study. We continued to dive into the genealogy of Jesus Christ and the 14 generations detail. In the gospel of Luke, we see women included from all backgrounds. Jesus Christ is the seed of the woman. In Romans 5:12 KJV “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” This was the original sin mankind inherited from Adam. Since Mary was a virgin and conceived by the Holy Ghost, “that holy thing” which shall be born of her shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35 KJV). There are three blocks of generations 3 X 14 = 3 x 2 x 7 = 6 x 7. There is still 1 x 7 needed for completeness. That will be fulfilled in Revelation!

The scripture reading was in Matthew 1:21-25 KJV “21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.”
