Our words and actions must align to reflect the divine wisdom that can only come from GOD. And if we lack it, we can earnestly, humbly ask for it from GOD and HE will provide. That wisdom, Heavenly wisdom comes from GOD and through HIS Word.
James then moves on to discuss true wisdom and understanding, contrasting earthly wisdom, which is unspiritual and demonic, with the wisdom from above, characterized by being pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy, impartial, and sincere. 8 characteristics.
Desires comes from the Greek word hēdonē, we get our word hedonism from. It is a term that means simply pleasure, but which often carries the negative connotations of sinful, self-indulgent pleasure. It consistently has this negative meaning in the NT (LUK 8:14; TIT 3:3; 2PET 2:13).
