Hazem cycles on the strip’s main road, reflecting on his journey. The road was full of beauty, love and hope, and Hazem can’t help but ponder when and how will it go back to that?

The highway extends over 45 kilometers, spanning the entire length of the territory from the Rafah Crossing in the south to the Erez Crossing in the north. Fun fact: it is one of the oldest roads in the world. For centuries it was known as the “Way of the Philistines” and linked Egypt to present-day Lebanon, Syria, Türkiye and beyond.
