A Fauxpology Example

This is an example of an apology used as manipulation, the "Fauxpology". It sounds sincere, but there's no request for forgiveness and NO commitment to changed behavior!

It is well recognized within the medical treatment of domestic violence (yes this falls into that category!) that this type of 'blanket apology' is pure manipulation. It essentially says, "If you accept this apology, I can do the thing to hurt you again without consequence."
