A.I. KILLED THE SONGWRITER
(Written by Ben Antoniadis)

Video killed the radio star
A.I. killed the songwriter
Baby, they say, you’re gonna go far
With an A.I. subscription and a cheating heart

He was born in the ‘80s in the year of Live Aid
Grew up in the ‘90s in the digital age
Just another bright kid of the third revolution
But now people are dumb in the fourth one

Learned to play back in the day then started to write
Composing little odes to stars in the night
Had a song in his heart and a story to tell
About fallin’ in love and into hell

Got a job at the post office but he always knew
He just wanted to write and sing some blues
So he quit one day and just wandered around
Singin’ his songs from town to town

Video killed the radio star
A.I. killed the songwriter
Baby, they say, you’re gonna go far
With an A.I. subscription and a cheating heart

He lives with the people who live under the stars
Living on the road with wide open heart
Away from the people who auction their souls
For a slice of the pie and their records of gold

He don’t know much about the latest thing
But he knows enough to know they’d like to stop us singing
To get the robots doin’ a song and dance
And the A.I. singing about star-crossed romance

But he ain’t buyin’ what they’re sellin’
He ain’t believin’ the lies they’re tellin’
So he’ll keep on living under the stars
Living on the road with a song in his heart

A.I. killed the songwriter
Baby, they say, you’re gonna go far
With an A.I. subscription and a cheating heart
