This commercial compilation comes from November 1st 1985. Welcome to the commercials of the November 1st, 1985 Friday Night Videos music video block. First was Friday Night Videos- a general music TV show. It was the NBC version of MTV. Then we have New Music City USA and Hit City. There used to be an entire block of 80s music videos on NBC. Some great commercials in this one. The thumbnail comes from a Star Trek inspired early CGI animation from Hitachi.

Commercials from our Brand Friends:
*Diet Coke- Featuring Billy Dee Williams (Lando) himself along with a catchy jingle and a little lighting. And here I thought he just did Colt45 commercials.

*Dinty Moore- Featuring 60's girls group and Indiana Jones himself to get that sweet, sweet stew.

*Diet Coke- The famous Sumo Wrestler Diet Coke Commercial. "Just for the taste of it, Diet Coke"

*Amazing Stories- Special 1 hour episode directed by Stephen Spielberg and then movie "48 hours" making it 49 hours. What an promo.

*Sony and American Express- Another rare "double feature" commercial where two brands team up. In this case it is the SONY CEO and American Express. Love the little Watchman TV. (Akio Morita)

*Honda Prelude- Another Honda commercial narrated by Burgess Meredith. This time, it's fom rthe awesome 1985 Prelude Si.

*Nightmare on Elm Street 2- Freddy is back on Elm Street. And this time, he has a special surprise. Watch out for him!

*Miller Lite- The Honor Duel over "Taste great, less filling"

*Burger King- 14 million dollar Winning Taste Game. Narrated by the..ugh narrator of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous (David Perry/David Greenspan). Note that this when Burger King still served Pepsi products. What a great 80s fast food scratch off ticket promotion.

*Annie Lennox- You could win Annie Lennox Flute and other stuff from "very famous people." What an odd thing to say.

*Tina Turner Video 45- For anyone who doesn't know... a 45 was a song single a "video 45" was a single music video on VHS (or Beta) tape. This is Sony music so they offered it in VHS and Beta (Sony created the Beta format).

*Miller Lite Yakov Smirnoff- He was a famous Russian/Soviet/Ukrainian comedian of the 80s.

*Pro-Line Curly Kit- This is just full of 1980's retro awesomeness.

*New York Tax Department- They're coming for you tax cheats with their giant 80s computers filled with 100 pound rolls of magnetic tape.

*New York Water Rate PSA- Al Roker says "stop brushing your teeth, save water"

*RICK JAMES- He's a special guest on Tuesday's A-Team

*Pontiac, New York PSAs, Morris the Cat, Roll N' Roaster, PSA about being gay, bizarre TV Bloopers promo, Radio Shack, class rings, NBC TV show promos and trailers, and many more.
