FOLLOWING A PERSON OR A CODE

It's one thing to follow the teachings of person. It's another thing to follow the person, its another thing to folow Ideas, Teachings, For a moral code. Simply following the person's teachings is not necessarily the same thing as following THEM.

Following Jesus's teachings, does not necessarily set you apart as an extremist in the eyes of people. However, believing that Jesus is alive at this very moment, and attempting to follow Him as a living person, automatically puts you in another catagory ad a nut job to others. But for those who might agree with you, That jesus is alive and we are not just following His teachings but Him, you would seem "normal." And to be clear following jesus as a living person...the God-Man, makes you normal from Heaven's perspective.

DEFINING THE TERM "SALVATION"

""He will "SAVE" His people..." (Matthew 1:21)

What does the word "Salvation" mean? How would you explain the word or meaning of salvation to someone who had never been exposed to the term?

Let's say you were in a remote jungle and met a man who did not speak your language, and had never heard the term salvation. Once you learned his language, how would you explain salvation to him?

Salvation is what happens after a person is saved.

Thr American Heritage Dictionary defines salvation as: "Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil."

If a person needs saving from some perilous condition or situation, and someone steps in to rescue them from it, that is called salvation. "I have received salvation at the hands of..." fill in the blank.

When a person is trapped, they need an advocate. Someone to step in, so they can be saved and receive "salvation." The applies both in the spiritual and the natural.

If a person is sick and about to perish, they need saving. If a person is hanging by their fingertips off the edge of a cliff, they need saving. Or more precisly, they need someone to rescue or offer salvation to them. If a person is separated from God, because of their own sin, and in need of being reconciled back to their Creator, they need saving. Someone to step in because, like the person hanging off the cliff, they need a "savior." If they cannot rescue themselves, they need another who is capable of rescuing them. Once they are rescued, They can rightly say they have been saved...or in other words, salvation has come to them.

WITNESSING JESUS THE SAVIOR TO OTHERS

Do you realize that some people will be offended and ignore or reject you at the mere knowledge that you are a servant of Christ? Some people, as soon as, lets say, you have a picture or the name Jesus on your T-shirt, will shut you off. So, should we have a different approach? What should our approach be to help the most amount of people not be offendedby, or be attractedto, Jesus? In my opinion, this is an impossible question to answer. Because you never know who you're going to meet. And you never know who's going to be turned off or delighted as they see you folow Jesus. So be true to your convictions and pray others will see Christ in you.

However, there's one important thing I know from the Words of God. Jesus never said; "If you offend someone because of your testimony, I'm gonna be offended at you." Never said it. What He did say is;

‭"For whoever is ashamed of Me and My Words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the Holy Angels." (Luke 9:26)

Now that's something to be concerned about. So the Lord could have put the emphasis on being careful not to offend anyone. But instead he put the emphasis on not being ashamed or embarrassed about Him, because He knew we would have a natural tendency to do that.

BE RECONCILED TO GOD

God's perspective, is sometimes opposite of our perspective. Typically in our point of view, the offended person should not be the one to initiate reconciling. The person who did the wrong to me is the one who should initiate reconciliation. After all they were at fault!

But with God, the offended arty (Him) does the opposite. God is not the offender, but the offendee. God is not the one who created separation, we did. He simply took the initiative to come to us, and make away to offer reconciliation, bringing us back to Himself. He's done His part. He initiated reconciliation even though He was the offended party. Perhaps we should do the same?

TOOTHPICKS? OR THE WEIGHTY WORDS OF GOD

Are we picking people apart or are we pointing them to the Word of God and what it says about them? To their destiny and how God feels about them?

Jesus dealt differently with sinners than He did with their own morals, or the religious. The people that should have know better. You don't see Him saying harsh things to people trapped in sin. Who were tring to esape bondage. Like the woman at the well. He was not afraid to reveal the truth about them. Or like the woman taken in adultery, He was not afraid to offer mercy without telling her, "Hey, it's okay, stay in your sin. I Love you." Generally speaking, Jesus dealt with broken sinful people by offering them redemption and a way out.

The harshest words that ever came out of the mouth of Jesus, were reserved for those who ought to have known better. The Scribes. Pharisees. Hypocrites. That's actually what He called them, "hypocrites." That's kinda harsh. But true.

He also called them a "den of vipers." That's a hole of snakes. He called them "Whitewashed tombs." That is, something that appears clean on the outside (moral code) but full of "dead mens bones." or, wickedness and corruption on the inside. And the coup de gras; "You are of your father the devil." No preacher could get away with saying these things today. And yet Jesus, the One we Love so much, said them. So my point is, He didn't say them to people that were really trying to obtain genuine salvation. He said them to the people that ought to have known better, but still continued in their hypocrisy.

The Church of Jesus has a history of picking apart its own. It's just got to stop. In the dream, the toothpick was a very light thing. And it accomplished very little. It represented what we have done in the past, and what we are currently doing right now. However, when the Word of God was dropped, it landed with weightiness.

The Word of God is much more than just exposing bad behavior & wickedness and saying "don't do it." That is part of it. And I don't want to minimize sin and it's effects at all, but if that becomes the main stay what we're talking about, we've missed it. There's the Love of God. There's the mercy of God. There's the protection of God. There's the righteousness of God. There's God as a Bridegroom. God as a Judge. God as a Brother. God, as a Friend, God as a Father. Etc etc.. The point is, you don't have to over emphasize one thing, or diminish or eliminate another thing, in order to prove a point or establish the importance of whatever subject you're trying to get across.

A PROPHETIC DREAM OF JOHN WAYNE, ACTING, AND THE CHURCH NEEDING A REMODEL

In the first part of the dream, I was sitting down with a Woman (representing the Church) and another young person (representing the coming generation). I was trying to explain to them about acting. I was using John Wayne as an example. And explaining how the way he was on screen was not necessarily the way he was in real life. At the same time, I was telling them that I had dome some acting in plays (which I actually have), and found that sometimes the best actors are the ones who are not acting at all, but demonstrating their own personality while on set.

When I mentioned John Wayne, the older woman perked up and expressed that she really liked John Wayne. I was taking a long time to come around to the point of my story, and she started getting a little impatient. I encouraged her to have patience that I would get to the main point in a moment.

In the next scene we were standing inside a Church (a building not the body of Christ). The Church had a familiar feel to it, aalmost like I had been the pastor there, but I knew I actuallyhad not been. I knew I was standing there as a guest in a new city and an already established Church.

There were a couple people standing inside with me, and I was explaining to them how the Church needed to undergo some change. It needed a remodel. Indeed it was already in the process of it. The building was empty of nearly all furniture and was obvious the process had begun.

Then I used a kind of strange illustration. I had a Bible and 2 toothpicks in my hand. As I stood on the platform, I gathered a few people around me and said; "Here's where we've been as the Church." Then I dropped one of the green toothpicks on the floor. Then I said; "Here's where we are right now." And I dropped the other toothpick a little separated from the first toothpick. Then I said; "Here's where we need to be." And I droped the Bible in front of them and down it came with a loud thud!

They seem to get the message. The Church needed to be "remodeled." To experience significant internal change. Then I said to them; "We need to be the kind of place that people can't wait to come too. Kind of like when a place is under a physical remodel for a period of time, it causes people to wonder what's going on. Then when the grand opening finally happens, they flood the place. They got it.

End

Prophetic Word From Robin Robinson Bohlin ~

July 11, 2024. "Hold on just a little bit longer. I know you’re tired and weary but put your trust in Me, the One who never ever fails. When you linger in weariness you create actions in your body that can lower your immune system opening you up to disease. Refuse tiredness, refuse weariness. Believe that when you lay your head on the pillow tonight that sweet sleep will minister to your soul. I will not fail you!"
