289. OUR UNDECLARED WARS

Former CIA official John Stockwell discusses three main areas of US covert action--Nicaragua, Libya and Angola. Stockwell has Traveled extensively in Nicaragua, participated in an early covert action against Gaddafi, and was chief of the CIA's Angolan task force. Also discussed is the little publicized, major change in American foreign policy since Reagan took office. This is the initiation of carrying on "low-intensity" conflicts of long duration, simultaneously around the world, instead of larger-scale wars. There are at least 15 of these, in addition to at least 35 other CIA covert actions around the world.
