Eels is one of the best songwriters from the alternative music world of the 90s. The songwriting from Mark Oliver Everett is rich with depth of feeling, humor and relatability. Blinking Lights is one of the more ambitious Eels records that may take repeated listens to appreciate the overarching themes and ideas found within. It is a favorite record from one of us (guess which one!) and we hope that you find our discussions engaging. Eels has written some timeless songs, and it was great to discuss this record in more detail.
