Showing how I make bait corn. You can save money by making your own bait, adjust the recipe to suit your needs. This will work for trout, kokanee, crappie, bluegill, most panfish. I tend to use this bait corn in combination with worms. It tends to add a little enticement when fishing for trout is slow. This is especially good when used when trolling for planted trout with dodgers and lures.
I am using the Pautzke Fire Cure. This stuff is a little spendy but makes a lot of cured corn. Orange and pink add a ton of color to any setup. You can add any scent you like, some that work well are garlic, sardine, tuna, anise, many more. Sometimes tipping the hooks with a little flash of color is all it takes to get stubborn fish to commit.
