Whether Joe Biden knows it or not, the ghost of Halford Mackinder is guiding the NATO pep rally in Washington this week. Offered a chance to join with Eurasian nations in mutually-beneficial development projects, they choose war. They appear to be blind to the opportunities offered by the emergence of Eurasia and the Global South, and unwilling to face the physical economic collapse of western economies resulting from their ideological commitment to Green and neoliberal policies.
