Description
Leaf Insects Concentrate has an indirect and preventive effect in warding off the presence of natural aggressors, such as aphids, scale insects, root lice, mealybugs, woolly aphid, whitefly, caterpillars (including the box caterpillar), vine weevil, lily beetle, gall midge, red spider mites, thrips, leek moth, blackfly, strawberry blossom beetle, and leaf aphid.

The product is absorbed by the leaf of the plant, shrub, or tree. By increasing resilience, the plant will, in essence, develop its own defence system through this absorption. Sucking and biting leaf insects disappear because they don’t like the taste of the food. Other insects will be unaffected. In this manner, nuisance and damage will naturally disappear.

Leaf Insects Concentrate is composed of a highly concentrated blend of specifically acting herbal extracts. The product is of natural plant origin and non-toxic to humans, animals, and the environment. Leaf Insects Concentrate can be applied in the ornamental garden, vegetable garden, and on a terrace or balcony by means of spraying. Edible crops can be safely consumed.

Application
Preventively administer from the moment the plant, shrub, or tree begins to sprout, especially if there has been a lot of nuisance and damage in the past. If harmful insects and infestations are already visible, Leaf Insects Concentrate can still be applied. The product has an effective duration of four weeks after which a follow-up treatment is necessary to ward off any remaining insects.

Shake the product well before use. Spraying with large droplets is preferable over pouring, as it shows its effect faster. If spraying isn’t feasible, the ground can be alternatively watered.

▶ Pouring:

First, lightly scratch the soil’s surface. Dissolve 25 ml of Leaf Insects Concentrate in 10 litres of water (suitable for 10 m²). Then, irrigate with ample water (10 mm).

▶ Soil Treatment:

Dissolve 50 ml of Leaf Insects Concentrate in 2.5 litres of water and administer into the ground at the roots of the crop. Make holes of about 15 cm deep with a rod (10 per m² root area). Pour in approx. 250 ml solution and close the holes.

▶ Spraying:

Dissolve 25 ml of Leaf Insects Concentrate in 5 litres of water. Thoroughly spray both the upper and lower surfaces of the plant leaves until dripping wet. For optimal results, dry conditions are essential so that leaf absorption can take place. It’s crucial to spray during overcast and covered weather. Do not spray above 25 °C.

Background Information
The following leaf insects are the most common and current culprits for damage:

Aphids
Aphids are small greenish insects that passively feed on the plant’s phloem sap. Plants can be severely affected by aphids. These pests are primarily found on the younger parts of a plant. Aphids can transmit viruses and cause chlorosis, growth disturbances, dehydration, and necrosis.

Whitefly
The whitefly is a bug-like insect that can transmit viruses. The larvae of the whitefly feed on the underside of leaves, secreting a sticky toxic substance called honeydew.

Red Spider Mites
Spider mites are infections of spider mites on plants. They feed on the phloem sap from the plant’s leaves. Heavily infected and necrotic leaves can’t function properly, leading to a severely weakened and dying plant.

Caterpillars
Damage caused by caterpillars can be recognised by leaves with nibbled holes or curled tips. Caterpillar damage typically occurs in the late summer and autumn. However, in recent years, caterpillars have also been causing damage at the beginning of the growing season.
