On June 29, 2024, a 911 call came in from an unknown female who wanted a police presence due to a possible physical altercation over an ex-boyfriend. While officers were standing in the area, a large fight broke out with around 200 to 300 people involved.
As officers interacted with the crowd, they saw a fight between 10 to 20 people outside the fence nearest to the park’s basketball courts. Two officers tried to stop the fight, but more individuals jumped over the basketball court fence to join it. The crowd became out of control and numerous other police agencies were asked to respond.

A male was found bleeding from the nose and mouth in the area.
As officers were tended to him, Jarmon ran from a parking lot across the street and punched another male in the back of the head in front of an officer. Jarmon was sprayed with pepper spray and ran from the area after the assault until backup arrived.

Officers tried to arrest Jarmon, but he resisted and attacked them. He placed one officer in a chokehold, and punched and kneed the officer in the head.
Other officers were forced to use a Taser, physical force, and pepper spray to get Jarmon to release the chokehold.
He was eventually put in handcuffs and escorted from the area.
