Romans - Chapter 3 Summary:

Romans chapter 3 continues Paul's discussion on the universal sinfulness of humanity and the need for God's righteousness. Paul begins by addressing the advantages of being a Jew and having the Law, yet he clarifies that both Jews and Gentiles are under sin. He quotes various Old Testament scriptures to illustrate that no one is righteous on their own and that all have turned away from God. Paul explains that the Law reveals sin but cannot save. He then introduces the concept of righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, which is available to all who believe, regardless of their background. This righteousness is a gift from God, apart from the Law, made possible through the sacrificial death of Jesus. Paul concludes by emphasizing that boasting is excluded because justification is by faith, not by works, and that God is the God of both Jews and Gentiles, justifying all who have faith in Jesus.
