The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Moscow for a bilateral summit with President Vladimir Putin.

It's Modi's first visit since Russia's war in Ukraine began more than two years ago.

The BBC's Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg said the visit gives Putin another opportunity to claim that attempts by the west to isolate Russia over the war in Ukraine have failed.
