Alexander Pushkin - The Prophet - Russian Poetry

"The Prophet" is one of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. It is one of his more impressive poems, and has been much translated into a lot of other languages.
"The Prophet" refers to the biblical story in which God's angel appeared to the prophet Isaiah. According to the plot of the Bible, a person impressed by this meeting became a preacher, but did not meet with understanding among the people.
