Since ancient times, India is called the Land of Mysteries. This hanging pillar, situated in Virbhadra Temple, also known as the Temple of Pillars, is in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. Among the 70 pillars here, one mysteriously hangs half an inch above the ground. Locals believe that pulling a cloth from under it brings prosperity. In 1902, British engineer Hamilton tried to solve this mystery, but all the pillars started moving when he inserted an iron rod. He had to stop the investigation to prevent the temple's collapse. The temple seems to rest on this pillar, but how it stands without touching the ground remains unanswered by modern architects and engineers.
