Sargent’s Watercolors and the Visual Order -212

This discussion surrounds the “visual order” thinking, which it Paul’s expression, and how it may be observed in John Sargent’s watercolors. Suggestions are made about how aspects of it may have been applied and may be applied by you.

QUESTION: Can you explain how one might perform the visual order approach with watercolour if it is even possible? You've shown a painting by Sargent that is a watercolor that looks amazing in that sense (in the video about painting fleeting effects - which by the way seems even more intimidating) and I am wondering how he might have painted that. I would expect watercolor to be the most suboptimal technique for the task.
