Kentucky convicted felon kills 4, injures 3 at birthday party before fatally shooting himself

A convicted felon killed four people and injured three at a Kentucky birthday party before fatally shooting himself while fleeing from police.

The shooting occurred at 2:50 a.m. Saturday on Ridgecrest Drive in Florence, KY, where homeowner Melissa Parrett was hosting her son’s 21st birthday.

The gunman, 21-year-old Chase Garvey, was not invited to the party.

Police identified the victims as Melissa Parrett, 44, Shane Miller, 20, Hayden Rybicki, 20, and Delaney Eary, 19. Two victims were found in the front yard.

The injured were transported to the University of Cincinnati hospital in critical but stable condition.

Upon arriving, police heard shots and were informed by partygoers that Garvey had fled. Officers located Garvey’s vehicle a few blocks away and initiated a traffic stop.

Garvey continued to flee and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after crashing into a ditch over four miles from the shooting scene, the New York Post has reported.
