In 1920s England, a stranded motorist (Veronica Carlson) finds herself in the fog-shrouded mansion of Mr. Lawrence (Peter Cushing). A former clergyman who experienced a family tragedy in India, Lawrence is concealing some horrific secret in an attic room. In addition to reuniting Cushing and Carlson (who had co-starred in Hammer Studios' FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED), THE GHOUL also features John Hurt (ALIEN, THE ELEPHANT MAN, 1984) and Don Henderson (who later shared a brief but memorable onscreen moment with Cushing in STAR WARS). This is another one for your VHS files, folks.

Cast: Peter Cushing (as Dr. Lawrence), John Hurt (as Tom), Veronica Carlson (as Daphne), Don Henderson (as The Ghoul)

Directed by Freddie Francis

Screenplay by Anthony Hinds (credited as "John Elder")
