This is such a simple and clever idea I am surprised I have not heard of it before. It is a removable handle that clicks into the locking mechanism on the door pillar of your car and gives you an extra gripping handle to support yourself on as you exit the car.

In the plain unbranded box, I received just the door handle and a simple but well designed user guide, not that such a thing is needed for such an easy to use item.

The 18.5 x 7 cm 184g handle is made from stainless steel in a ABS non-slip plastic skin, which is attractively designed and pleasant to hold in the hand. The pointed tip comes with a protective rubber cover which pulls off to reveal the bare steel window breaking hammer, which is the other feature of the handle. Yes, the handle doubles as a security tool which could help you exit the car in an emergency.

To use the handle, just open the car door - and this should work on both front and back doors - and hook the metal tip into the steel engaging receiver into which the door lock mechanism fits. This is easier to perform than describe and a quick look at the open door pillar makes it clear. You can then safely put your whole weight onto the handle and push yourself up and out of the door. When not needed the handle can be kept in the glove compartment for later use or for emergencies.

That really, is all there is to it. This is a simple and clever gadget that could make the life of the elderly or those with health issues very much simpler. Not a bad buy for just £9.29 before discounts.
