This video contains the files « WNYW Dub5 01.avi » to « WNYW Dub5 19.avi » as well as « WTCI-329-I-#3.mp4 » and « WTCI-329-I-#11.mp4 », which have been released to the public by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). I added additional footage which WNYW-TV had donated directly to the Internet Archives.

Unedited aerial footage from news helicopter Chopper 5 / High 5, produced by a WNYW-TV (FOX5 NY) news crew. To provide an accurate context, I embedded the raw footage into the live coverage of FOX5 New York. NIST has not released all raw footage coming from Chopper 5. However, the majority of the missing footage is included in the live broadcast. The second portion of FOX5's live coverage is raw material in itself, without banners, identifiers, etc. which usually run on the TV screen, and contains some material from FOX News, CBS2 NY, and ABC7 NY.

Videographer & Helicopter Reporter: Jim Smith;

*** Surprisingly (or not), time uncertainty is one major factor in the investigation of the September 11 Attacks, and this uncertainty creates confusion. For instance, the exact impact time of the South Tower is also disputed:
NTSC Flight Path Study UAL175 (2002), page 2: 09h02:40
NIST Final Report WTC 1&2 (2005), page 27: 09h02:59
National Commission Report (2004), page 8: 09h03:11
and various other sources give a time in between. Even TV clocks, which are supposed to be accurate, vary significantly up to eight seconds.

But there is only one official time in the United States, and it is provided by the United States Naval Observatory (USNO) Master Clock.  Back in 2001, it was broadcast thru the Digital Time Code of NIST's WWV /WWVB radio station.
Making my own analysis, I established that the WNYW-TV clock was off by about +0.3 sec on that day, that means behind the official time-signal. Consequently, the aircraft made its first contact with the building structure @ 02h02:59, and the aircraft explodes / fireball inside @ 09h03:00.

The footage is highly controversial. I will not comment on the content and leave it to viewers like you, what they see, and hear. However, I distance myself from lunatic theories which allege that video journalist Kai Simonsen himself had been part of a conspiracy, and allegedly manipulated the footage.

I refrain from digital image manipulation. In my opinion, any so-called 'enhancement', as observed in similar video creations elsewhere, is tampering with evidence. I consider this video document as material evidence in the disaster investigation. My objective is to use as much raw footage as ever available for a highly authentic document, and to avoid edited material if possible. I also conserved artifacts 'as is', and interruptions of the video/audio stream. The footage of the FOX5 live broadcast had encountered earlier compression losses.
However, I adapted all footage to NTSC standard (SD), doubled the frame rate to 59.94 fps (60000/1001), and tried to restore the audio, if possible, when necessary. Though working with, whenever possible, uncompressed footage, Rumble is using their own encoding service and compression standards.

This video has been created for exclusively educational, non-profit purposes. The usage of commercial footage shall be regarded under the conditions of 17 U.S. Code § 17 / 17 U.S. Code § 512 (f) (Fair use).
Dedicated to the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and in the aftermath of that day. May they rest in Peace.
Thank you for taking the time to inform yourself.
