Billionaire Bunkers on the rise

Billionaires are now looking toward self-preservation–by investing in multi-million dollar bunkers complete with water cannons and a moat that sets on fire in case of intruders.

Fueled by Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement to build a $100-million underground shelter in Hawaii, builders of these shelters say their phones have been ringing off-the-hook with the uber rich hoping to prepare for doomsday. “It got really busy, and it seems like the phone hasn’t stopped ringing; World War III seems like it’s coming,” Ron Hubbard, CEO of Atlas Survival Shelters, told Hollywood Reporter.

Renderings show top-of-the-line furnishings, from $50,000 trap doors leading to secret passage ways, parking for extraction devices like super-yachts, helicopters, and submarines, and even a decontamination room to rid oneself of germs from the outside world.

“The real threat is the power grid, which is ironically the plot of “‘Leave The World Behind,’” SAFE founder Al Corbi told the publication.
