0:00 - Late to the party review just discovering Extreme's "Six" 2023 album due to the recent release of their "Beautiful Girls" retro video
3:58 - Older Gary Cherone looks great & Nuno Bettencourt is awesome | Van Halen III
7:05 - Extreme going beyond 80's glam rock & "More Than Words" | not truly knowing Extreme | 2008's "Saudades de Rock" album | rare stylistic diversity
11:17 - Song by song review | heavy metal, industrial & acoustic songs | auto-tune, pitch-corrected vocals | making a perfect Extreme album | imitation (Note: I discovered afterwards the song is "Beautiful Girls" not "American Girls")
25:20 - Closing thoughts

Live 7/3/2024.

Regular live show. I'm a rockabilly slap double bassist in Portland, Maine chatting about music with a focus on classic rock. 📻 Also here are interviews from my 2011-12 podcast "The Roman Midnight Music Podcast", no longer available elsewhere. Channel duplicated on Rumble & Spotify.

🎧 I played bass in Brooklyn metal trio Tired Wings & Maine's alt-country group Willy Martin & The Woods. I've studied slap bass with Slick Joe Fick & Adam Ben Ezra, jazz history with bassist Chuck Israels (Bill Evans Trio, Stan Getz), jazz theory with clarinetist Titus Abbott, world music with singer Margot Hanson. I play exclusively double bass with K&K & Shadow rockabilly pre-amp/pick-ups, Fender Rumble amps, Innovation Rockabilly Reds strings. 🎼
