Dr. Tod Mikuriya and Casper Leitch take Time 4 Hemp

Dr Tod Mikuriya sat down as a guest on the original television series, 'Time 4 Hemp' with host Casper Leitch in 1991 to discuss marijuana prohibition and the need to re-introduce medical marijuana into society.

Dr. Mikuriya, a prominent psychiatrist and co-author of Proposition P in San Francisco, shares his views on the history of medicinal cannabis and its availability. Frustrated by the lack of progress since his research for the National Institute of Mental Health in 1967, Mikuriya discusses the prohibition of medicinal cannabis as part of a propaganda campaign to maintain the belief that it's a dangerous drug.

He plans to take Proposition P, which recommends restoring hemp preparations in San Francisco, to the next level by involving the California Medical Association (CMA) and shares his conversation with the CMA's president.

Mikuriya also discusses a research project aimed at assessing the hazards and benefits of cannabis products, supported by the San Francisco Health Department, and expresses his belief that medical research into hemp will help demystify the plant and provide legitimate information to the medical community.
