Don Pepin Vintage Edition Robusto Cigar Review - This 5x54 stick features a dark brown, densely packed satin wrapper with a fine tooth, large triple cap and a cocoa hay aroma. First light reveals a potent dry hay flavor much like vetiver, with a touch of pepper on the tail of the finish. Draw is perfect, smoke plentiful and body medium-full. The first third burns perfectly and slowly, stacking dimes of ash showing similar notes to the start adding a spearmint to the draw flavors. The 1/2 way point comes at 35 minutes with flavors changing to a lighter hay, dry nuttiness and slight caramel with the pepper dying down on the finish. Ending at 1:05 to the hot nub the last third drops the hay going to a deep caramel, heavy nuttiness and slight spice through the long finish.
