The Story of Ruth is a 1960 American biblical drama film directed by Henry Koster and written by Norman Corwin. The movie is based on the biblical book of Ruth and stars Elana Eden, Stuart Whitman, Tom Tryon, and Peggy Wood.

The story takes place in the time of the Judges, around the 11th to 12th centuries BC. Moabitess priestess Ruth is drawn to a Judean man, Mahlon, and his family. After tragedy strikes, Ruth begins a new life in Bethlehem, where she meets Boaz, a wealthy landowner. Despite the objections of Boaz’s brother, Ruth declares her feelings for Boaz and marries him.
