Paranoia is fearing others are trying to harm you when they are not. For the past two decades Prof Daniel Freeman has been developing the understanding and treatment of severe paranoia. In this presentation he will give an overview of how he thinks about paranoia and steps that can help overcome it.

Speaker Bio

Professor Daniel Freeman PhD DClinPsy CPsychol FBPsS FBA teaches at the University of Oxford in the UK and is the Chair of Psychiatry. He joined the Department of Experimental Psychology in 2023 to hold the Chair of Psychology. He is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, an NIHR Senior Investigator, founder of the University spinout Oxford VR, Professorial Fellow at Magdalen College Oxford, and Fellow of the British Academy. He is the recipient of the 2020 British Psychological Society Presidents' Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychological Knowledge.
