Powerful Hurricane Beryl made landfall on the Caribbean island of Carriacou, Grenada on Monday. Fuelled by record warm waters, it became the earliest Category 4 storm to form in the Atlantic Ocean.

Winds reaching nearly 150 mph (241 km/h), just below Category 5 strength, tore off roofs, uprooted trees and caused damage on Carriacou, and in other parts of the southeastern Caribbean.

"So, a very serious situation for anyone who is watching in those areas. If you are in the eye, do not go out in the eye. It's not safe," director of the National Hurricane Center, Michael Brennan, said.

Canadian travel blogger, captured the intensity of the storm, describing witnessing "intense rain and wind" as well as massive Atlantic waves caused by the hurricane.
