Video highlights captured at the biannual vintage bus running open day event held at the Lathalmond Scottish Bus Museum SVMB located at the Lothalmond site near Dunfermline. A particular highlight at this year's event was seeing preserved Lothian Regional Transport Leyland Atlantean and Eastern Scottish vehicles.

Every August the Lathalmond Scottish Bus Museum SVMB hosts an open weekend which takes place over an entire weekend. A free bus service operates from Dunfermline Bus Station taking visitors to the museum across the weekend.

There's plenty to do when you arrive where many vintage bus vehicles are put on display providing visitors with the opportunity to ride some of the vehicles while they run as part of an internal service. You can also visit many trade stands who offer a wide variety of gifts including diecast models which will appeal to bus enthusiasts.

Looking back at the museum's history back during the late seventies and eighties there had been an increase in vehicles being preserved from across Scotland which had been saved from scrap sitting in locations such as bus depots and agriculture sites. Many new small bus preservation groups were formed who teamed up to create premises where they could store and work on many vehicles for preservation.

Lothalmond used to be a Royal Navy stores depot which eventually became the museum you see today and was setup back in 1995. For rail enthusiasts the museum shares it's site with Lothalmond Railway Museum alongside the Shed47 Railway Restoration Group.
