It’s so important to pay attention to the words that we speak whether it’s the new popular word/phrase that everyone else is saying or singing along with a song that’s playing or anything else. I’ve caught myself so many times when singing a song I grew up hearing and then realizing how messed up the lyrics actually are. If God is saying that our words carry the power of life and death then we ought to take it seriously and make a diligent effort to speak more intentionally. Our words carry authority and have power unlike that old saying of “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Words can hurt and cause much destruction, but they can also build and empower. Let’s choose to speak words of life.
