Meatballs in Sour Cream Gravy is made with tender meatballs and mushrooms smothered in a rich, creamy, tangy gravy! My version uses baked meatballs which is such an easier method, and I don’t make meatballs any other way!

Meatballs in Sour Cream Gravy

Ingredients
For the meatballs
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 onion, grated
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

For the gravy
2 tablespoons butter
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1/2 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups beef broth
2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup sour cream

Directions
Preheat oven to 400° .
Combine ground beef, onions, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Roll mixture into 1 1/2 inch meatballs (about 18 meatballs total) and place them onto a baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes.
While the meatballs are baking, make the sauce. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
Stir in flour.
Stir in beef broth and lemon juice. Bring to boil and season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat for 3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream
Remove from heat and add in cooked meatballs. Turn heat back on let simmer another minute.
