In an inspiring call to faith, Tennessee Rep. Monty Fritts sponsored a bill urging the entire state to seek divine mercy and healing through 30 days of fasting and prayer in July. Governor Bill Lee signed the bill, leading to a significant city-wide rally in Hohenwald, TN, where nearly 20 churches gathered to repent for the nation's sins.
Pastor Jeff Gandy, President of the Lewis County Faith-Based Recovery Coalition, emphasized the importance of this movement. "Much like the story of Jonah, where the people of Nineveh faced a choice between repentance and judgment, we too are called to seek God's mercy. The King of Nineveh declared a fast and prayer, saying, 'Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish (Jonah 3:9). I firmly believe that if it saved them, it will save us as well."
