RATED Blitz vs. UNRATED Rapid

In rated blitz my opponents continue to play, rather then rapid, which the players think they blundered and resign immediately, also they think they're losing because of their opponents ratings, normally, they'd abort, but since it's unrated they don't care as much and resign. What do you think?
