God's Breath Gives Life

Today's message is about promise, about restoration, about hope, showing how much God loves us, about breathing the Holy Spirit in us when we are dead in sin so we may live again. This message not only applies to Israel then, but it applies to all nations and people who are living under governments that follow everything but God today. The people and nations who choose to live in sin and because of that sin, those nations and its people will have no place in heaven.

God gives us His promises and hope through His word. A good example of His promise and hope to Israel lies in the book of Ezekiel chapter 37. When we take a deeper dive into Ezekiel chapter 37 we see God calling for the restoration of Israel.

God has given the prophet Ezekiel in verses 1-14 another vision which he is to share with the people of Israel. A vision of a valley filled with dry bones scattered everywhere. In this vision God asks a very important question, Can these bones live? Although nothing Ezekiel was seeing made sense to him, he was faithful to what the Lord had asked Him to do. He was asked to prophesy to the dry bones. To prophesy that God's breath would fill the dry bones so they may have life, for skin, for flesh, for tendons and that the bones would come together.

In context, Israel had been taken from their land and put into exile but God was ready to bring His people home to the land that He has given to them so they may live with Him serving Him. God had made this covenant promise to Abraham to provide a land of milk and honey, a place where God would protect and provide for them. Many came back, but as we see today there are still many scattered amongst the earth. But, as we are taught in the bible, the people of Israel will come back to their home land as God's prophetic plan comes to fruition. Unfortunately, even today as in the days of Ezekiel, the people are not convinced that God could save them or their land. Sin clouds their thinking and was great in the nation then as it still is to this day.

We are living in a world today that is full of confusion, full of pride, full of selfishness and full of immoral behavior. The bible warns us that there will be a day of judgment that comes upon the earth. The bible also tells us that the ones who are true believers of the Lord will be in heaven during God's judgment. Meaning when the rapture occurs the Lord will meet us in the air and we will be with Him for eternity.

Is it possible that our nation (the U.S.) full of sin can live again? Our nation is in dire need of this hope, of this restoration, of this revival, of God's breath flowing into us. Our nation needs to know that when we follow God, He will have our backs. Our nation needs a spiritual revival to come alive once again.

If we are pointing to ourselves as the source of the solution to the question "can these bones live again"? Then there is no hope. We cannot save ourselves from our sin! Jesus is the one who saves us if we believe in Him and live for Him. If we continue to live in sin we are going to become just like the dead bones in the valley. But God, He is waiting for us to bring in the revival to turn and repent from our sins. To shun the sin in our lives and turn to God for redemption. We have to seek the Lord and only through His breathe and power that we can live freely and live again being released from our sin.

Only the Triune God can save us because we are living in a sinful nation. When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, He can move in us and thru us. It is God's power that will sustain us. It is our choice to live in Christ or die in our sin. God will not force our hand but He will certainly make it very uncomfortable for us when He is ready for us to decide. It is through the Holy Spirit that we will come alive (Zechariah 4:6)

My prayer is that we would come together as one body and allow God to continue to breathe life into us. That the world would recognize that we all need Jesus because He is the only way to His Father. I pray that the revival starts in our hearts and grows abundantly throughout every nation giving God glory in unison. Reverencing Him for the rest of our days. In Jesus Mighty Name Amen! Amen!
