"NASA's PREFIRE Mission: Unveiling Polar Mysteries"

To investigate the heat emissions from Earth's polar regions, NASA is launching a ground-breaking mission called PREFIRE (Polar Radiant Energy in the Far-Infrared Experiment). Two CubeSats will be used in this mission to measure how variations in ice and air conditions impact heat loss from the poles. The CubeSats will orbit close to each other. NASA hopes to enhance weather and climate predictions and obtain new insights into climate modeling by utilizing smaller, more maneuverable spacecraft.
