Who's My Neighbor

In Jesus' Day, there were many who lived an "immoral" lifestyle. Many who did things that went directly against the Law of God. There were many who were equivalent to the Immigrants we are faced with today. The Samaritans were people originally of the Nation of Israel, many, many generations back, who had mixed not only their bloodlines but also their religion with that of the Pagan people in the Region. Then there were the Romans who had conquered and enslaved God's Children. There were many people who were considered to be Spiritually "Unclean" because of their handicaps or diseases, people who by Law were Outcasts in their own society.

Who's My Neighbor? Do I Love Them Like I Do Myself?

How did Jesus react to and treat all of these people? How did Jesus command us to react to and treat such people?

With LOVE!!!!!!

As we begin our look at this important topic, join A Voice Crying In The Desert Outreach as we welcome our Special Guest, Heart of Tamara. She will be leading us into worshiping our God in song.

Nothing has changed today. We have all the same types of people in the United States. And they are often treated by Religious People just as they were by Religious People in Jesus' Day. With hatred, anger, and an attempt to pass laws against them. Far too many today are making their choices on which politicians to support based on which ones promise to pass the most draconian laws to enforce their Moral Standards upon others and who promises to treat those who come from other countries where they have no hope and no chance to live the worst. But all of that is wrong.

The Command of Jesus is clear. Love your neighbor as yourself. That can be expanded to say, in order to better understand what Jesus was saying, to "Love Your Neighbor as you do your spouse, your children, your grandchildren, or even your parents". Unless we start doing that, we will never have all He wants to give us. But that then leads to the question Jesus was asked. "Who is my neighbor?"
