COMBAT BRIEFING NUMBER 856

From Colonel AC. Oguntoye's briefing on the progress of the special military operation on June 29, 2024:

1. **Continued Operations**: The Russian Armed Forces continue their special military operation, focusing on strategic and tactical objectives across various regions.

2. **North Group of Forces**:
- Engaged the 42nd and 57th mechanized brigades and the 105th Territorial Defense Brigade in the Kharkov region.
- Inflicted significant losses, including 270 Ukrainian servicemen, one tank, several vehicles, and multiple artillery pieces.

3. **West Group of Forces**:
- Improved their tactical positions and successfully defeated multiple Ukrainian brigades in both the Kharkov region and Lugansk People's Republic.
- Repelled two counterattacks by the 3rd Assault Brigade and caused substantial losses, including over 500 servicemen and destruction of critical artillery resources and ammunition depots.

4. **Southern Group of Forces**:
- Advanced their positions and decisively defeated Ukrainian forces in several areas, leading to over 430 Ukrainian troop casualties.
- Destroyed significant amounts of military hardware, including armored fighting vehicles and artillery systems, and eliminated five field ammunition depots.

5. **Center Group of Forces**:
- Liberated Shumy in the Donetsk People's Republic and improved tactical positions across multiple areas.
- Repelled six Ukrainian counterattacks and inflicted losses including 360 servicemen and various artillery pieces.

6. **Vostok Group of Forces**:
- Took more advantageous positions and overcame Ukrainian forces near Urozhainoye and Kulturnoye, repelling two counterattacks.
- The enemy's losses included 135 servicemen and several pieces of significant artillery.

7. **Dnepr Group of Forces**:
- Successfully defeated Ukrainian brigades in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
- Inflicted casualties of up to 100 servicemen and destroyed various military vehicles and artillery systems.

8. **Widespread Tactical Strikes**:
- Russian operational-tactical aviation, UAVs, and missile troops destroyed a Ukrainian division's control center, radar systems, and anti-aircraft missile system launchers.
- Targeted enemy manpower and military hardware across 119 areas.

9. **Air Defense Achievements**:
- Downed one MiG-29 aircraft, 119 UAVs, five ATACMS missiles, and 10 HIMARS rockets.

10. **Cumulative Losses Since the Start of Operations**:
- The total reported destruction includes 616 aircraft, 276 helicopters, 26,896 UAVs, 535 air defense missile systems, 16,453 tanks and armored vehicles, 1,359 MLRS combat vehicles, 11,060 artillery units, and 23,076 special military vehicles.
