Dodging Yak Shit.... or Trekking to Mt Everest Base Camp (Check out the end)

Took this trip in October 23. All the books recommended October as the best time as its after the rainy season but before the bad snows start and provides the best views of the mountains. Second best is supposedly in April timeframe. Although sadly we didn't get the greatest views most days due to weather.

I used a trekking company called The Explorer's Passage (www.explorerspassage.com). If you decide to utilize them definitely ask for the team Pu-roo and Sookbeer, they were an incredible team and Pu-roo knew everyone along the route and had a ton of information about the trail, mountaineering, and the culture in general. His dad was also a guide back in the day. Just great guys to trek with.

The trek came with 2 days in Kathmandu on the front end and 1 day on the back end. Due to a longer than normal rainy season in the mountains our flights kept getting delayed so we did all 3 at the front end. At one point there were 4 days worth of trekkers backed up at the small airport used to fly to Lukla, thats why when a spot opened up our company got us on a helo flight that barely made it through a small pocket of weather.

Look for video 2 that has video along the actual trek.

Enjoy!
