Supreme Court Delivers Major Blow to Biden's Justice Department
The Supreme Court has just ruled in favor of Joseph Fischer, a former police officer involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
In a stunning 6-3 decision, the justices concluded that the law under which Fischer was charged was intended for evidence tampering, not the broad application claimed by prosecutors.
This is a big deal because the ruling sets a precedent that could benefit many other Jan. 6 defendants. With 247 cases potentially affected, the narrowed interpretation of the law could lead to reduced charges or even dismissals.
Watch and listen to Elijah Schaffer for the full details.
