If owning and becoming proficient with a firearm continues the Second Amendment, owning and becoming proficient with radios may just be securing the First. Jake Knight of Gridbase.net reports on his first off-grid radio course and presents an argument that radios and their extension: mesh networks, strengthen our independence through the ability to speak freely to one another. In addition to selling your data, large comms companies, and chat platforms regularly throttle our ability to speak to one another.

We go into the layers of tech, different comms systems, and integrating them into our communities. The conveniences we get attached to often become tools of pressure used against us, and that comes to food and self defense. That same concept extends to communications systems. But there are ways to work against it.
