The Kenyan anti-finance revolutionary protests have garnered allies from far and beyond. The eldest son of revolutionary civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr, Martin Luther King the Third and his wife, Arndreas King, are in Kenya, specifically the national reserve Masai Mara. And they have a message for the Kenyan people. They show their solidarity and support as Kenyans exercise their rights to be heard and call for non-violent tactics, which, from the words of Martin Luther King himself, is a powerful and just weapon which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it.
After days of intense protests against the IMF-backed bill, President William Ruto bowed to pressure and declined to sign the controversial Finance Bill. Protesters have vowed to keep up the pressure against the government and its policies and continue to demand major political reforms.
