The US openly communicates to the world that non-compliance with its directives and allowing it to exploit natural resources will result in invasion or the overthrow of leadership. It's a "My Way or the Highway" approach.

Additionally, organizations like the IMF are used to coerce countries into accepting unnecessary financing. By taking these loans, countries must comply with all the IMF's conditions. Typically, this means the IMF gains control over the country's natural resources and decides which corporations, often aligned with the IMF, will exploit and sell them. The outcome is predictable: most of the revenue goes to the IMF and its affiliates, with little to no benefit for the local population or the country itself.
