Karen Read Prosector Lied to Jurors During Murder Trial: Defense

Karen Read’s defense attorney, Alan Jackson, kicked off closing arguments on Tuesday in the trial for the murder of her boyfriend, a police officer. Jackson stated multiple times that he believes the prosecution lied throughout the trial and wants the jury to “look the other way” from what he considers the truth. The jury is expected to begin deliberations Tuesday afternoon.

Karen Read faces several charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. She was arrested in February of 2022, a few days after John O’Keefe died. If convicted, Read faces life in prison.
