Captain Jacques du Toit speaks to us about his time in the South African Air Force (SAAF). Coming from a military family, he did his national service as a dog handler in the SA Air Force. He then joined permanently becoming an Electronic Warfare – EW – or EO – officer flying in the DC-4 (Spook), Boeing 707-C, and Oryx helicopters (airborne jammers).
In this episode, he tells us of his time flying EW missions and various Signal Intelligence ground deployments. He also shares his experiences training with the Royal Air Force in the UK, his transition to Imagery Intelligence, and his role on SA's Space program.
