Astigmatism Bros Rejoice - the Holosun 407CO Donut Reticle Rocks

If you follow the channel you know I've been on the hunt for a pistol red dot optic that works well for an astigmatism. Well, thanks to Holosun, I think I've finally found it.

The holosun 407CO X2 model is extremely unique. Where most optics have a regular 2 to 3 MOA dot, or a dot with a larger circle, usually 32MOA to 45 MOA depending on manufacturer, the Holosun 407CO model has a simple donut reticle that spans 8 MOA.

Being open in the center, this is actually a really solid optic for astigmatism, as the donut reticle for many people isn't as hard on the eyes as the solid dot.

The circle dot reticles of other optics, like the Cyelee Wolf 2 and the Gideon Omega optics i've reviewed in other videos, also work well with my astigmatism. However, for a pistol use case, these optics obscure a large portion of the target, making really precise shooting a challenge, both featuring 45MOA circles.

Even Holosun's multi reticle optics, like the 507C I reviewed in another video, has this problem.

The 407CO by contrast has only an 8MOA circle, so it barely obscures the target at all. Keep in mind, the popular 407K holosun model has a 6MOA dot, so 8MOA is barely a difference at all.

It is tight enough that precision pistol shooting is still very possible and it doesn't obscure the target like other reticles.

What I've found is that I actually really like this optic on a pistol. This has become my go-to on the Glock 19 clone build ive been working on building out, and I think this optic is going to be final.

And this model has all the advantages of the popular base 407C model. It's an RMR footprint, it has the same solar panel features. It has the same housing and the same high quality adjustable turrets. It has similar clear glass. And of course, the same reliability Holosun is known for at a budget price.

I picked mine up from Academy sporting goods for under $200.

So overall this optic is an awesome option, I'm excited to run it moving forward in competitive shooting matches, especially as I test this budget Glock 19 build that I'll be doing future videos on. So while my round count isn't that high on this optic yet, I've had great sucess with all of my other holosun optics. I'm pretty confident this will become a staple in my arsenal moving forward.

I hope this video helps you out, if it did give us a like and consider subscribing to the channel. Have a great week.
