The Boys is a comic book series, written by Garth Ennis and co-created, designed, and illustrated by Darick Robertson. The Boys enjoyed huge critical success and decent commercial success as well in its seventy-two issue run from 2006 to 2012, and its spin-offs continue to turn a profit. Due to this fact, the comics was adapted by Amazon Studios into a television series that premiered on July 26, 2019 through a brand licensing rights agreement with Dynamite Entertainment. The second season premiered on September 4, 2020 while the third season premiered on June 3, 2022. A spin-off anthology series, ‘Diabolical’, also premiered on March 4, 2022.
The Boys is an impertinent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good.
The series starres the Boys, a CIA-backed group of operatives whose job is to manage and, if need be, kill SUPES. The team was comprised of Wee Hughie, Billy Butcher, the Frenchman, Mother's Milk, and the Female. The comic series followed their continued efforts fighting The Seven and Vought American.
