Brown bears often exhibit dominance hierarchies, especially when it comes to catching fish, a critical food source.
Dominant bears, like Magnus, may act more aggressively to secure the best fishing spots or claim the largest catches. This competitive behavior allows them to prioritize their access to valuable food resources.
However, these dominance interactions don't establish a single "ruler" among the bears. Instead, a hierarchy exists where some bears have more success than others in obtaining resources.
