We always get told that you can't perform at a high level athletically without carbs

However is this actually true?

Due to the fact that sport is so crab dependent and is financially supported by high carb companies/products there has not been much research

Fortunately now we are starting to make progress and studies so far suggest that fat adapted athletes can perform as well if not better than high carb athletes

Fat adapted athletes have been shown to have similar muscle glycogen levels to high carb athletes and to replenish stores after exercise FASTER

Perhaps there is a lot about our body we don't yet fully understand
